The week brought together Muslims and Christians from different parts of the world, including religious leaders, peace practitioners and youth representatives. Participants celebrated unity by learning from one another through open and respectful dialogue. Throughout the week, they took part in discussions and interactive sessions that deepened their understanding of respectful listening and communication that promotes peace across religions and cultures.

As the “Week of Unity IV” came to an end, participants left with renewed hope and a shared commitment to carrying out the lessons learned back to their countries. The event served as a peaceful reminder that coexistence is possible when people choose dialogue over division and understanding over misunderstanding, helping build bridges across faiths and cultures.

“The Week of Unity IV” reaffirmed that, despite differences in faith and culture, people can work together for the common good, building a future founded on respect and lasting peace.

"Wings of Unity” is an initiative organised by the Focolare Movement and the RISALAT International Institute, coordinated by the Centre of Inculturation in collaboration with Focolare New Humanity Africa (FONA). Week of Unity IV was a week dedicated to promoting togetherness and collaboration. It was held from 14th to 19th June 2026 at Mariapolis Piero, Kenyatta Road, Juja, Kenya. “Unity of God & Unity in God” was the theme of the week. The theme symbolised the strength, growth, and progress that can be achieved when individuals and communities come together in harmony.

Rather than focusing on what divides people, the dialogue encouraged participants to recognise what brings them together, including love, peace, respect, and the desire to build a peaceful community. One of the key lessons learned was that a genuine dialogue begins with listening rather than hearing. Wanting to understand a person's beliefs does not necessarily mean abandoning your own faith; it helps strengthen relationships, build trust, and appreciate the values that unite humanity.

As Dr Mohammad Ali Shomali said, “With one wing you cannot fly ... but with even two small wings in harmony with each other you can fly high.” His words necessarily meant that when Christians and Muslims understand each other and work together, then humanity will be respected worldwide.

The discussion also explored ways to address prejudice, resolve conflicts peacefully, and encourage cooperation among different faith communities. The youths were given special attention; as young people, they were encouraged to become peace ambassadors by promoting respect, cooperation, and mutual understanding in their schools, homes, communities, and even workplaces.
